Wade Seals 12th Straight Win at the Line

The Miami Heat passed the character test tonight as the Washington Wizards held a two possession lead with less than 30 seconds to plays, but the Heat were able to pull out a thrilling 95-94 victory.

Chris Bosh hit a big three pointer with 28 seconds left to breathe some life into the Heat as they completed the victory. What was important about this shot was that it set up Bosh pump faked his way to three free throw shots with 12 seconds left and his team down by three. Unfortunately Bosh did not make the three shots, but James Jones came up big on the next round of free throws for the Heat to tie the game up. After Kirk Hienrich failed to hit two free throws after being fouled, Dwyane Wade proceeded to take the ball up the court, drive the lane and hit both shots to put the Heat up by one. In Washington's final possession Heinrich drove the lane, put up a lay up, tried to sell a foul, but a foul was not called with Wade gaining possession and throwing it up in the air as time expired.

This was exactly what the Heat needed and certainly serves as one of those wins that you can look back on and realize how important a win like this is. It showed that the Heat can perform when the pressure is on. The Heat have passed alot of tests during this 12 game win streak, but the biggest test will be against the Celtics in which they have two more opportunities this season to get wins against them; one on February 13th and another on April 10th. However, the Heat's next test will come Monday night as they host the Dallas Mavericks Monday night at the American Airlines Arena.
